the Gift.

One cannot give a gift; one can only offer a gift.

A gift is not a gift until it is accepted.

If a gift is given with a hidden agenda and the gift is accepted, the recipient received a gift; the “giver” was simply making an investment.

If accepting a gift requires giving one in return, then neither person accepted a gift; therefore no gift was given. However, the person who offered the gift free of expectation received an intangible gift that requires nothing in return.

A compliment is a gift being offered. If accepted, both people received a gift. It is the inconditional gift of love and the gift came from a higher source.

I’m pretty sure that’s how it works.
