The Education of Curious Abner and hisTalented Tutor, the Toad.

Young Curious Abner: Why do we do the things we do?

The Toad: So much of the information that we gather has little to do with logic and everything to do with being accepted by those who love us. My guess is that most of what we believe is little more than muscle memory.

Young Curious Abner:What quality should I look for in a spiritual advisor?

The Toad: A collie might be nice. Or a horse if you have room; a kitten perhaps. Whatever you do, stay away from people with folded arms and lizards.

Young Curious Abner: Does time exist?

The Toad: Ask me tomorrow.

Young Curious Abner: Isn’t that what you said yesterday?

The Toad: Some questions are tougher than others.

Young Curious Abner: What is the most important thing for an artist to know?

The Toad: Stay away from art critics.

Young Curious Abner: Why?

The Toad: You’ll know soon enough.

Young Curious Abner: How will I know if my art is good?

The Toad: Get A collie, or a horse if you have room; a kitten perhaps. Whatever you do, stay away from people with folded arms and lizards. Those are the critics.
